US: The William Vale hotel in Brooklyn is set to incorporate The Malin, a 10,000 square foot high-end coworking space.
The Malin will take up one of the last vacant retail spaces on the hotel’s ground floor.
The Malin CEO Ciaran McGuigan said he was inspired by the William Vale’s architecture for the company’s second location, which will feature the amenities such as private offices, phone booths and meeting rooms, for up to 250 members.
“When people enter our space, it doesn’t feel over the top or overwhelming,” said McGuigan. “It doesn’t feel like an over-the-top, exclusive members club.”
It will feature emerald velvet couches, teal leather, pink upholstered chairs, and frosted glass. The coworking space aims to complement the William Vale’s “industrial and quite intense” architecture, according to Fettle Design’s Tom Parker.
“We wanted to prevent it from feeling too much of any particular period, and then it’s all tied together in the fabric scheme,” said Parker.
