UK: Housebuilder The Hill Group and Lloyds Living have staged a topping out ceremony at The Nexus scheme in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

Comprising 264 rental apartments in Stevenage town centre, Nexus is Hill’s first BTR project in partnership with Lloyds Living, as the company expands into the BTR sector.

Celebrating construction reaching the highest point at the development, the topping out ceremony was attended by representatives from The Hill Group and Lloyds Living. Comprising 100 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, the 16-storey apartment building is the tallest of three buildings at the scheme.

Amenities include an on-site concierge, gym, coworking spaces and parking facilities. Lloyds Living will oversee the management and leasing of the apartments upon completion, which is anticipated in 2026.

Nexus forms a major phase within a wider masterplan led by Hill in Stevenage town centre that will eventually deliver 592 new homes in a range of tenures, set around landscaped green spaces and high-quality public realm.

Andy Hill OBE, founder and group chief executive of The Hill Group, said: “Reaching this construction milestone is significant because it marks the start of Hill’s expansion into Build to Rent and celebrates our partnership with Lloyds Living. It’s great to see the progress that is already being made at Nexus to deliver high-quality rental homes with excellent amenities in the heart of Stevenage.”

Andy Hutchinson, CEO of Lloyds Living, added: “We were delighted to join The Hill Group in the topping out ceremony at Nexus, a milestone that demonstrates real progress in our shared aim of delivering a well-designed Build to Rent development in an area with a strong demand for rental housing.”
