UK: The Association for Rental Living published its 2025/26 Manifesto, outlining a strategic vision to position the UK’s rental living sector as a trusted provider of high-quality, professionally managed rental homes.
The goals set out in the manifesto include driving policy development, fostering best practices, and uniting industry stakeholders to support sector growth. With a commitment to innovation, community building, and investment in BTR, the association aims to unlock long-term economic value while ensuring renters benefit from high standards and secure, well-managed homes.
Additionally, the manifesto set out goals to prioritise high-quality living environments that foster community building and tenants’ wellbeing as well as championing environmentally responsible practices and innovative solutions.
This publication comes at a crucial time for the UK’s rental sector, as the demand for high-quality, professionally managed rental homes continues to rise.
The Association for Rental Living, the membership body representing institutionally backed, professionally managed rental housing, said its goal is to drive progress, influence policy, and unite stakeholders to support the rapid expansion of the BTR sector, in the next two years.
With the potential to deliver up to two million additional rental homes in the UK, BTR presents a transformative housing solution that could unlock an estimated £300 billion in long-term investment.
The association’s newly released manifesto builds upon the established BTR Code of Practice and draft Customer Charter, which aims to reinforce industry-wide best practices and set a new benchmark for quality rental housing.
The Association for Rental Living said its objectives align closely with the UK government’s BTR Taskforce, which aims to promote innovation, elevate industry standards, and accelerate the delivery of high-quality rental homes.
The association said it will leverage its network of committees, regional hubs, and special advisors to shape policies and advance best practices, ensuring that the Rental Living Sector remains a key player in the UK’s housing strategy.
Brendan Geraghty, CEO of the Association for Rental Living, said: “The Rental Living Sector stands at a pivotal moment. As government policy shifts toward pro-growth and pro-housing strategies, we have a powerful opportunity—and responsibility—to demonstrate the sector’s current and future value to society, government, and business. Together, we’re shaping the future of rental living, empowering it to be stronger, smarter, and better for all.”
