UK: Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW), alongside PSP Investments and QuadReal Property Group, has completed its £670 million Coppermaker Square built-to-rent (BTR) project in Stratford, east London.

The final phase of the transformational regeneration project adds 193 premium apartments, bringing the total to 1,225 homes.

The scheme, which is operated by Greystar, also introduces a luxury residents’ screening room and a landscaped courtyard, further enhancing the community-focused design.

Since opening in early 2023, Coppermaker Square has experienced strong leasing momentum, with 87 per cent of apartments now let.

The development has proven particularly popular among young professionals working in finance, business, and technology. The average tenant age is 32, with nearly half aged 26–35.

The £670 million scheme delivers 30,000 square feet of lifestyle amenities, including a 25-metre pool, spa, gym, coworking spaces, roof gardens, private dining rooms, and lounge areas.

A central 25,000 square feet landscaped green space anchors the development, which sits adjacent to Westfield Stratford City.

Brent Seaton, group director of Construction at URW, said: “Coppermaker Square is a landmark development for URW and a powerful example of our strategy to transform well-connected locations into vibrant, mixed-use destinations. Alongside our partners PSP Investments and QuadReal, we’ve delivered a best-in-class residential scheme that combines scale, quality, and community focus. This is a long-term investment in Stratford and the future of urban living.”

Adam Francis, vice president of international asset management at QuadReal, said: “Delivering high-quality residential options in prime markets is a key component of QuadReal’s global investment strategy and Coppermaker Square demonstrates the strategic value of large-scale, purpose-built rental housing. This development not only meets strong market demand but also sets a new benchmark for investment excellence, sustainable design, and long-term community impact in London’s residential sector.”
