UK: Contractor Winvic has been given approval in the Building Safety Regulator’s Gateway 2 process to deliver a £130 million build-to-rent (BTR) development in Leeds.
The 578 apartments will be developed across two residential towers at the International Swimming Pool site in the vicinity of Leeds city centre, rising 33 and 22 storeys above a shared podium and basement. The project will provide amenity spaces, rooftop terraces, balconies, and commercial units.
The project is also targeting a Home Quality Mark rating of 3.5-star and will feature sustainable components such as photovoltaic panels, air source heat pumps and energy-efficient building systems.
Lisbon Street Developments, a joint venture between Marrico Asset Management and Helios Real Estate, is developing the project. Construction is expected to start in Q4 2026.
It forms part a broader regeneration initiative on the site, which has seen Winvic undertake a 548-bed student accommodation project and where an aparthotel is currently being built.
Mark Jones, managing director for multi-room at Winvic, said: “We look forward to delivering a high-quality residential scheme that will contribute to Leeds’ continued growth and provide homes in a thriving city centre location. Following our recent work on the same site, this development is a great example of our capability. The scheme’s scale, complexity and prominent city centre location make it an exciting addition to our portfolio.”
