Australia: West Tower,  a BTR project by Lendlease and Daiwa House Australia, has topped out at 45 storeys.

Located in Lendlease’s Melbourne Quarter development, West Tower is the final building in the mixed-use precinct.

Designed by Fender Katsalidis, the site will include a 25-metre lap pool, gym, spa with a sauna and steam room, a cinema, coworking spaces with media and music rooms, a bowling alley, a pet spa, and an on-site concierge.

West Tower will have 797 apartments, ranging across studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units.

The project is the third joint development by Lendlease and Daiwa House since they formed a joint venture in 2023 – Japanese developer Daiwa House holds a 75 per cent equity share in the project.

Lendlease CEO of development Tom Mackellar, said: “Long-term rentals provide much-needed housing supply and diversity and give people more choice at different stages of life.”

Koji Morishige, CEO of Daiwa House Australia, said he is “proud that Melbourne Quarter will further expand our geographical build-to-rent footprint. We look forward to welcoming thousands of residents to West Tower very soon”.

West Tower is set to start welcoming residents in early 2026.
