UK: Shobi Khan, CEO of Canary Wharf Group, has been confirmed as keynote speaker for the 2022 Urban Living Festival which is taking place in London on July 6 and 7.
The innovative hospitality and real estate event is taking place in association with Canary Wharf Group (CWG), the largest urban regeneration project in Europe.
Launched in 2021 Urban Living Festival (ULF) explores the evolution of living and working in modern cities.
Khan said: “We are excited to host the ULF at Canary Wharf, and alongside other leading industry figures to discuss the critical issues facing the real estate sector such as sustainability, diversity and inclusion. It is an exciting time for Canary Wharf – the opening of the Elizabeth line is a game changer for the Estate, and our recent partnership with The Eden Project, showcases our continued commitment to building a sustainable environment at Canary Wharf. The appetite for build-to-rent apartments in London continues, and Canary Wharf’s Vertus portfolio is an established, thriving part of the estate with unparalleled amenities, engaging events and a close-knit residential community – It’s all here.”
Piers Brown, CEO of International Hospitality Media, said: “I’m delighted to be welcoming Shobi Khan as keynote speaker, and showcasing the event on the Canary Wharf Estate. Changing demographics, the aftershocks of the pandemic and the subsequent social and economic drivers are fuelling investor decisions across broader urban living asset classes. ULF places the spotlight directly on investment, development, supply, operations, brands, technology and distribution and demand generators in the age of convergence.
“Curated with an intense focus on collaboration and debate, the festival brings CEOs to c-list executive owners, investors, developers, operators and service providers together to collectively share best practice, engage with the industry’s future and do business. VERTUS and other cutting edge hospitality and real estate brands will be inviting attendees the opportunity to tour and experience first-hand some of the amazing hospitality and real estate available throughout the estate – a true urban living environment,” added Brown.
Day one will feature half-day property tours; with workshops hosted at Level39, the 80,000 square foot community space at One Canada Square, followed by conference and networking at East Wintergarden on Day two.
ULF will shine a spotlight on:
