UK: Manchester developer Capital&Centric has made several senior appointments, with further additions to follow.

The appointments come as the growing team relocate to a bigger HQ at the recently acquired Chapeltown Warehouse, a historic textile building in Manchester’s Piccadilly East that the company plans to transform into 20,000 square feet of workspace for creative businesses.

Experienced property leader Scott Mallinson joins to deliver Capital&Centric’s design-led communities in and around Greater Manchester. He joins from DeTrafford, where he led on delivery of 400+ home projects in Manchester city centre. At Capital&Centric, he will head up projects including the rebirth of Farnworth Market in Bolton, Ancoats Works and the restoration of Talbot Mill in Manchester.

“I’ve always admired Capital&Centric from afar and kept tracks on the cool stuff they were up to, so it’s brilliant to now be part of the team. The last few years I’ve spent in development, but my background is in management of big construction contracts. With the sheer scale of the regeneration projects coming up, it’s the perfect time for me to get stuck in and deliver the design-led communities that have become our hallmark,’ said Mallinson.

Existing team members John Moffat and Tom Wilmot have been made joint managing Directors. They have been team members for six and five years respectively and take up the senior roles having been key to the delivery of high-profile BTR projects including Weir Mill in Stockport where works have already begun, and Goods Yard in Stoke-on-Trent, also on site.

They’re joined by new development manager Jonathon Nolan. He will build on his project management experience at consultancy RPS to support on the building of Ferrous, the new BTR homes and garden spaces at Manchester’s Piccadilly East which received planning permission earlier this year.

“It really feels like the next chapter for Capital&Centric. We’ve got new team members, a new home in Chapeltown Warehouse and we’re underway with a diverse set of projects that will show the breadth of what we’re capable of. Ultimately, we’re showing that northern communities deserve awesome design and vibrant places to live and work, just as much as those who choose to build a life in London. Our solo work as well as partnerships with local authorities are delivering that in spades. Let’s be honest, it’s an uncertain time and things aren’t easy – with rising costs left, right and centre. But we’re doubling down and are determined to deliver not only anchor developments in the places we’re working, but genuine social value,” said Adam Higgins, co-founder of Capital&Centric
