UK: Macquarie Asset Management’s BTR platform Goodstone Living has appointed Iliya Blazic to the newly created role of CEO.
He will join the executive shareholders, Darryl Flay and Martin Bellinger, in delivering on the business’ strategy of partnering with leading institutional investors to deliver high-quality BTR developments across the UK.
Blazic will be responsible for day-to-day leadership of the business and report to the board of directors. He brings more than 25 years of real estate investment and funds management experience to the role, having held senior leadership positions at IQ Student, Dominvs Group, Wellcome Trust and LaSalle Investment Management.
He recently held the role of chief investment officer at IQ Student where he oversaw the growth of its real estate portfolio to more than 28,000 beds, resulting in the sale of the business to Blackstone Group in 2020 for £4.7 billion.
