UK: Martin Bellinger and Darryl Flay, the co-founders of Goodstone Living, have resigned from the business, with effect from December 31st last year.
Founded in 2021, Goodstone Living is a UK BTR platform backed by Macquarie Asset Management. It has around 1,300 build-to-rent homes under construction across the UK, including major projects in Birmingham (550 units) and Edinburgh (338 units).
A statement on Goodstone’s website said: “The Board of Goodstone Living has accepted the resignations of Mr. Darryl Flay and Mr. Martin Bellinger, effective 31 December 2025. Both Darryl and Martin have served as board directors since inception of the company, while also providing consulting services in relation to site acquisitions for the last two years. They are leaving the company to pursue other business opportunities.”
Goodstone CEO Iliya Blazic said: “On behalf of Goodstone, I would like to thank Darryl and Martin for their contributions to the company and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”
Writing on LinkedIn, Bellinger said: “We really enjoyed working with Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) to create the Goodstone business, and with our superb colleagues who helped us to build it into what it has become today. We leave the company happy that it is in very safe hands and we will, of course, watch its continuing progress from afar. I would like to thank personally all of the staff at Goodstone, past and present, as well as our partners at Macquarie for their help and support over the last five and a bit years.”

Given that we have both been involved in residential-led development in all its various forms for nearly 40 years; and in Build to Rent specifically for over 15 years; I don’t think that we will be branching out into hang glider design, but I never say never.”
