UK: The Home Rental project by John Lewis partnership has had a second round of consultations to deliver 350 new homes.
John Lewis Partnership is having another round of consultations for its Build-to-Rent homes in Bromley, south London, after initial meetings with local residents and community groups in 2022.
The news follows the announcement it made, in December 2022, of a £500 million multi-decade joint venture with global investment company abrdn. This venture will mark the creation of 1,000 new homes across three locations- Waitrose shop sites in Bromley and West Ealing, and a vacant John Lewis warehouse in Mill Lane, Reading.
The partnership has plans to deliver about 350 energy-efficient homes in Bromley. It also aims to address specific local needs and hopes to focus on nature, wellness, sustainability, and community.
The site is next to Bromley South Rail Station. It will have a public piazza in the center, with the use of natural light across the project. A Waitrose, a café, cycle routes and pedestrian links will also be present along with a few green spaces.
The John Lewis Partnership’s target is to deliver 10,000 homes in the next ten years. Half of these will come from schemes on the Partnership’s own property portfolio.
