UK: A joint venture between developer Torsion Group and Housing Growth Partnership has broken ground on a £53 million BTR scheme in Sheffield.
The Hollis Croft development will rise from seven floors at the west of the scheme through to 17 floors to the east.
It will feature 234 apartments as well as commercial space at the ground floor level.
The JV has appointed ACS Engineering to oversee compliance and delivery of foundations and structural frame and facades.
Torsion Construction will undertake all aspects of the on-site delivery acting as main contractor, with Torsion Developments acting as development managers.
The project is Torsion’s second scheme in the city and its first Sheffield BTR project. Torsion Developments and HGP, the Lloyds-backed equity investor in the UK living sector, are both providing equity into the scheme.
Completion of Hollis Croft is expected in mid-2026.
