US: Real estate company Bedrock has revealed plans for the Cadillac Square mixed-use scheme in Detroit.
The site is close to Campus Martius Park, Cadillac Square, and Ford Field – the home of the NFL’s Detroit Lions.
Cadillac Square will include between 250 and 280 residential units across 230,000 square feet of space; 90,000 square feet of retail space including a market hall, a grocery store, restaurants and other businesses; 400,000 square feet of Class A office space and 1,500 to 1,800 parking spaces.
The National Theatre’s façade will be altered as part of plans for the campus’s entertainment area, which will cover 60,000 square feet. The theatre, which first opened in 1911, will act as an anchor for the whole scheme.
The implementation of the project will be carried out in three phases. On September 1 2024, following the year’s NFL Draft, which is expected to draw thousands of visitors to the city, construction of phase I will start. Phase II is set to commence on October 1 2026, and phase III on January 1 2028.
