US: Developer LD&D has bought a two-acre site from the Tampa Housing Authority for $10 million.

LD&D plans to build a 28-storey, 369-unit apartment building, a 178-key hotel, 10,000 square feet of coworking space, a pickleball court and a sky lounge on the 26th floor. There will also be 32,500 square feet of retail on the ground floor and a 586-space parking podium.

The property at 1101 E Harrison St. falls within a 40-acre master planned district called Encore, which includes a mix of housing, retail and office projects all backed by different developers.

“Our project strategically sits at the centre of neighbourhoods we believe will continue to merge, and we look forward to creating a community-centric concept and providing residents with luxurious amenities, and in turn, the highest quality of life,” said Diego Bonet, managing partner of LD&D, said in a statement.

Construction is expected to start before the end of the year.
