Thomson to head UTB’s BTR expansion

UK: United Trust Bank (UTB) has hired Andy Thomson to head up its expansion into the BTR sector.

Thomson has been hired for the newly created role of senior director for operational real estate. He joins from Bank of London and Middle East where he was head of real estate finance and private banking.

He will work within UTB’s property development business with an initial focus on supporting developers working in the BTR space, before exploring opportunities in PBSA and coliving.

Thomson brings more than 30 years of experience in banking, holding senior roles at organisations including RTBS, Bank of Scotland and Secure Trust Bank.

Adam Bovingdon, head of property development at UTB, said: “BTR, and the wider UK living sector, presents a great opportunity for the bank and Andy’s experience and contacts will help us to develop UTB’s proposition and activity in this increasingly important and exciting market.”
