UK: Telford Homes and its JV partner Poplar HARCA have appointed Way of Life Management Ltd to manage the Balfron Tower BTR development following the building’s renovation.
Way of Life, the management arm of developer and investor Long Harbour, was chosen to manage the development in Poplar, given the company’s “strong track record and extensive experience in London managing boutique and design-led rental properties”.
Featuring 140 modernised one-to-four-bedroom apartments in a Grade II* Listed, brutalist 28-storey building, the homes are available to rent now. Architects Ab Rogers Design and Studio Egret West have overseen the renovation of the building, which was designed by Erno Goldfinger and is a sister property to the Trellick Tower in Notting Hill.
Paul Dooley, director of regeneration and development for Poplar HARCA, said: “Balfron Tower is an important landmark in east London’s skyline. I am really pleased that following the complete restoration to transform this historically significant building, it will soon be occupied. This will provide more, crucial new homes in Tower Hamlets. We believe this partnership with Way of Life, who share our focus on the importance of community, will be a real boost for the local area.”
Amenities at the scheme include a cinema room, table tennis room, gym, private dining and cookery room, a roof terrace and work-from-home space.
“We are proud to be a partner in this iconic regeneration project which has been refurbished in a way that is sensitive to its architectural heritage and sustainability. We are delighted to be working with Way of Life Management to bring Balfron Tower’s spectacular new homes to the rental market,” said Anne Kavanagh, CEO of Telford Homes.
