UK: Coliving brand Folk has launched its Sunday Mills development in Earlsfield, south-west London.
The project, which features 315 studios, is expected to be completed in September and open for renters to move into in October.
The site will feature a roof terrace with 360-degree views of London, a coworking space, high spec community kitchen, a gym, cinema room, lounge and on-site restaurant and bar.
Paul Naylor, general manager of Sunday Mills said: “The launch of Sunday Mills in Earlsfield is an exciting next step in Folk’s journey as we continue to offer hassle-free co-living in London. As our brand has grown over the past few months, we’ve been able to hone our offering, take all the best bits of co-living and combine them with state-of-the-art design and innovative technology to launch Sunday Mills.
“We’ve balanced the indoor and outdoor spaces perfectly by working with architects and positioning the building riverside, and we are really excited for our first residents to sign up and move in later this year,” he added.
The eight-storey building has been designed around Folk’s key pillars of community and connection, encouraging social interaction and the formation of new friendships and relationships.
After extensive research with renters and following the launch of the brand’s first coliving space earlier this year in Harrow, Folk aims to disrupt the rental market by removing the traditional pain-points tenants face such as run-down accommodation, lack of outdoor or working-from-home space, and rising cost of bills.
Folk offers a £1,479 studio price per month, including bills, access to events and communal areas including gym, cinema and coworking space.
Folk has committed to donating one per cent of the net operating profit back to charities and community organisations in the area, as well as powering the building with renewable energy sources.
