Fresh to launch first Welsh coliving scheme

UK: Property management company Fresh, the management arm of developer Watkin Jones, has been appointed to launch Fitz & Knox, the first coliving scheme in Wales.

The scheme’s developer, Urban Centric, has appointed Fresh to the Cardiff city centre property, which is a conversion of a pre-existing office block.

Fitz & Knox will offer 208 studio apartments as well as shared amenities including a cinema, games room, quiet working spaces, kitchen, dining areas and fitness studio.

Sam Scott, managing director at Fresh, said: “Fresh has been at the forefront of the growing trend in community-focused city living and it’s with great excitement that we bring our learnings from the successful launch of the first co-living scheme outside London. Fitz & Knox will provide fun and entertaining spaces for residents with safe, healthy, community-based living placed at the heart of property.”

Jennie Samuels, property director at Urban Centric, added: “Partnering with Fresh was a natural choice — their experience and passion for community-led living align perfectly with our vision for the scheme. We believe Fitz & Knox will set a new benchmark for renting in the city, offering residents flexibility, connection, and a lifestyle-first approach to living.”

The scheme, which was formerly the Cardiff HQ of Legal & General, is being financed by a a £23.8 million loan from Shawbrook and £7.6 million equity investment from Housing Growth Partnership (HGP), part of Lloyds Banking Group.
