UK: Beaufort Capital has completed a facility to fund the development of a 321-bed PBSA scheme in Glasgow city centre.
This project will see a highly-experienced. But as yet unnamed developer demolish an existing office building and replace it with a new design-led scheme.
This development will also feature a café and coworking space on the ground floor, with bookable meeting/event spaces, a student lounge, study room, gym and 7,375 square feet of outside terrace space split across five floors.
The site is located less than 10 minutes’ walk from Glasgow city centre and is within easy reach of the University of Glasgow, Strathclyde University and Glasgow Caledonian University.
Joe Flaherty, director at Beaufort Capital, said: “We are very pleased to have completed this facility for this excellent addition to the Glasgow PBSA market. Glasgow has one of the largest student populations in the UK, coupled with a structural undersupply of quality PBSA, and a lack of supply coming to market in recent years.
“This project will make an excellent addition to the city’s student offering, and a standout development in the client’s already-impressive portfolio of projects. We have been working with this highly-regarded developer for more than seven years, and we look forward to seeing this landmark site taking shape over the coming months,” he added.
Demolition is underway on site and the scheme is forecast to open in time for the 2026/2027 academic year.
