US: Crescent Communities and Nuveen Real Estate have released new details and updated renderings for a major mixed-use scheme in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Called Carson & Tryon, the project is in the South End district of the city and will feature a 31-story, mixed-use tower, nearly 560,000 square feet of office space, 10,000 square feet of retail space, 200 Novel-branded apartments and a 200-room boutique hotel. Crescent and Nuveen announced the project, originally called Carson South End, in February.

An entity affiliated with the developers paid $37 million for the land from four property owners, according to Mecklenburg County real estate records. The development will be anchored at the intersection of South Tryon and Carson streets and will span 3 acres.

Sagar Rathie, managing director of office at Crescent, said the development was designed to intentionally centre around enhancing the employee experience.
