India: Flowork-Alpha, a renovated barge redesigned as a coworking space, is set to open to tech businesses in Goa.

Offering 5G-enabled spaces, the project is designed “to accommodate Web3 developers, innovators, and technical support start-ups”.

Operated by W3BONTHESEA-Oceancrest Pvt Ltd, the vessel aims to position Goa as a hub for the tech industry. Equipped with meeting rooms, recreational spaces, 5G-enabled workstations, and accommodation, the project reflects Goa’s strategy to emerge as India’s creative nucleus and enhance opportunities for its youth and professionals.

Rohan Khaunte, the Goan tourism and IT minister, initiated the vessel’s development by revealing its keel plate, emphasising the backing from the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communication.

Other barges registered with the Port Captain Department are undergoing decoration and repair work.

“The incorporation of offshore facilities is a game-changer for Web3onTheSea,” said Raj Kapoor, founder of the India Blockchain Alliance, which has a stake in W3BONTHESEA-Oceancrest Pvt Ltd. “It sets the project apart as a pioneer in tech ecosystems. These re-purposed vessels will serve as hubs for creativity, collaboration, and cutting-edge work, providing an unparalled experience for individuals and teams alike.”
