France: Greystar has acquired a new development comprising 390 units for young professionals and students over 17 floors.
The construction will be carried out by teams from Linkcity and Bouygues Bâtiment Centre Sud-Ouest, who will begin works this month (February 2025).
The scheme will feature communal areas on the ground and top floors, as well as a 200 square metre rooftop terrace offering uninterrupted views of the city.
Designed by KCAP and V2S Architectes, the development is in the heart of the Toulouse Aerospace ZAC. This acquisition will be under Greystar’s pan-European student brand Canvas and is set to open in summer 2027.
This area has benefitted from significant investment and will be linked to Toulouse’s metropolitan network in 2028, with the opening of a station located near to the Greystar residence.
With this acquisition, Greystar strengthens its presence in the Toulouse region, where the company has been managing two student schemes that total 816 units for more than 13 years.
Thomas Charvet, managing director of Greystar France, said: “We are delighted to take the next step in our development in France with the acquisition of a Canvas residence in the vibrant city of Toulouse. This strategic decision reflects our commitment to providing exceptional living spaces in high-potential areas. Located near a major employment hub and prestigious schools, this new residence expands upon our offering in the Paris region, which includes Canvas La Défense, Canvas Ivry, and a recently acquired 257-unit residential development under VEFA agreement, bringing the total number of units under our management to over 1,600 for our own account. It embodies our ambition to build a network of modern residences across the French territory, perfectly suited to modern-day needs. With state-of-the-art facilities, extensive communal areas, and a prime location, Canvas Toulouse promises a unique living experience that combines comfort, convenience, and vitality.”
