Egypt: The Cairo-based coliving platform Roomz.rent has closed a pre-seed funding round led by regional venture firm Qora71, with participation from a network of Middle East and North Africa (MENA)-based angel investors.
Founded in late 2024, Roomz.rent targets young professionals, students, and expatriates by offering furnished, fully managed rooms with flexible lease terms starting at three months.
The platform offers a matchmaking technology which aims to help tenants find compatible flatmates and build communities.
Mohamed Ayman, CEO and co-founder of Roomz.rent, said: “We believe city living should be accessible, flexible, and centred around community. This funding validates the need for a better rental experience and gives us the resources to scale that vision.
Youssef Salem, general partner at Qora71, said: “Urban rentals remain one of the most broken categories in MENA. Roomz.rent is tackling this with impressive traction and a tech-first mindset that understands the cultural nuances of the region.”
