UK: The real estate investment advisor BGO Strategic Capital Partners has partnered with Orka Investments to recapitalise a portfolio of two PBSA assets in the UK.
The transaction establishes the foundation of a new PBSA platform, with plans to build a portfolio worth more than £100 million.
This move strengthens BGO SCP’s presence in the UK’s high-growth student housing market, which continues to see record international student demand and ongoing supply constraints.
The initial assets, located in Manchester and Derby, include 568 student beds in two properties. Both cities boast strong university markets, positioning the investments for sustained rental growth and operational improvements.
BGO SCP said this partnership aligns with its strategy of acquiring high-quality living sector assets in collaboration with experienced operators, with a focus on long-term value creation.
Cherine Aboulzelof, managing director and head of BGO SCP, said: “The UK student housing sector remains one of the most compelling living strategies in Europe, backed by strong market fundamentals and deep institutional demand.
“We are pleased to partner with Orka Investments on this transaction, reinforcing our commitment to high-quality PBSA assets in attractive university locations.”
Raoul Malhotra, managing partner at Orka Investments said: “We are excited to expand our partnership with BGO Strategic Capital Partners through this GP-led recapitalisation. Both assets present strong growth potential, and we look forward to building a successful platform together.”
