UK: Developer and regeneration specialist First Urban has received planning approval to redevelop the Jewson warehouse site, close to the main station in Guildford town centre, Surrey.

The proposed scheme totals around 15,700 square metres gross internal accommodation and will consist of 345 student beds and 54 affordable apartments along with associated landscaping and amenity space.

There will also be significant improvement to the public realm, including enhanced pedestrian and cycle connections between the University, station and town centre.

First Urban Director Daniel Goldberg said: “We would like to thank all of our consultants and professional team for their hard work and assistance throughout the process, and look forward in due course to pushing forward with the regeneration of this strategically located town centre brownfield site. We are actively seeking further land opportunities throughout the UK.”
