UK: The Flexible Space Association has appointed Alexandra Livesey, COO of Clockwise, and Freddie Fforde, founder of Patch to its board.
FlexSA is the industry body representing the flexible workspace industry, representing more than 1,000 flexible workspace locations across the UK. The FlexSA Board oversees the direction of the association, monitors its finances and takes decisions on matters of significance. Board members are directors of the association and serve for a four-year term. The new appointments follow 2024 board election in which FlexSA members voted.
Livesey joined Clockwise, which has been a FlexSA member for five years, in 2020. Since joining the business, Livesey has helped Clockwise grow from less than 20 employees to nearly 100, from three sites in the UK to 17 with a portfolio that now includes mainland Europe and with more ambitious plans in the pipeline.
Livesey said: “It is a privilege to sit on the board of directors and be given the opportunity to use my experience, and passion, to make a meaningful contribution to shaping the wider flexible workspace agenda.”
As well as being the founder of Patch, Freddie Fforde leads the commercial and operational functions. With a background in startups, he’s particularly excited about the potential for technology to bring people together.
He said: “We are at a pivotal moment in the growth of flexible workspace in the UK, into more products and places than ever before. We feel this every day at Patch, with our own ‘work near home’ approach to town high streets. We need strong advocates representing different sides of the industry to ensure credibility amongst institutional and governmental stakeholders to shape this future. FlexSA is that voice.”
In total, there are nine FlexSA Board members. Elections to the board are structured to ensure that the different sizes of FlexSA member companies are represented with one or two places being open to election each year.
FlexSA board chair, Andrea Kolokasi of Workspace Group, said: “Alexandra and Freddie are valuable additions to the board, offering remarkable expertise, experience, and a genuine commitment to enhancing our industry. I am looking forward to working with them, and hearing their contributions to board discussions.
Livesey and Fforde will take up their positions at the FlexSA AGM on 19th September, with Freya Cross and Jeff Morton stepping down at that point.
