UK: Student accommodation provider iQ and tech platform Lavanda have expanded their partnership.

iQ Student Accommodation (iQ), and technology platform Lavanda have announced that they are extending their partnership. This will enable iQ to use Lavanda’s technology to optimise occupancy.  This is an extension to an existing partnership and will see iQ expand the use of the technological platform from six sites in six cities, to 30 sites in nine cities.

Through the partnership, iQ will be providing students and the general public, access to accommodation options in city destinations where the company’s sites operate. The focus is particularly for the summer months when there is a strong demand for short term and flexible accommodation.

Matt Merrick, CEO of iQ Student Accommodation said: “We provide a wide range of high-quality accommodation to students throughout the UK and are pleased to be extending this offer to students and the public for short term stays over the summer months.”

Fred Lerche-Lerchenborg, CEO at Lavanda, said: “We are proud that our partnership with iQ will help create more flexible and affordable accommodation options over the summer months, using best-in-class technology. We are delighted to further solidify our leadership position in the UK PBSA market, and to continue Lavanda’s exciting growth trajectory.”

iQ provides private purpose-built student accommodation, with a portfolio of 79 properties, comprising more than 32,000 beds across 29 university towns and cities throughout the UK.
