Pakistan: British developer One Homes has announced plans to deliver Pakistan’s first PBSA for women only.
The project, called Luna, will be located in Lahore and is designed to meet the rising demand for safe, professionally managed student housing.
The launch was announced in London by Aqib Hassan, chief commercial officer at One Homes, part of One Group, which has a real estate portfolio worth over $435 million (£341 million) across Pakistan.
He was joined by representatives from Walters & Cohen Architects, including Cindy Walters and Giovanni Vonfanti, whose practice is designing the scheme.
Construction timelines for the project have not yet been confirmed. The scheme’s first phase will prioritise secure housing for female students, a group disproportionately affected by the country’s housing shortfall.
Hassan said: “This is about more than housing; it’s about progress. By empowering young women and creating safe spaces for them to grow, we are investing in a brighter, more equitable future for Pakistan.”
Walters said: “Women account for over half of university enrolments in Pakistan’s urban areas but face challenges in accessing safe and affordable housing, limiting their academic and professional opportunities.”
The development will be situated in Lahore’s higher education district, within a 3.5-mile radius of 12 universities and over 100,000 students.
Hassan said: “There are approximately 2.5 million university students across Pakistan and the purpose-built student accommodation sector is estimated to be worth $30 billion (£23.5 billion) – with zero institutional competition. Luna, Lahore is a first-mover investment opportunity.”
