UK: BTR developer Moda Living has partnered with Samsung to rollout technology across its £2.5 billion portfolio, installing up to 60,000 appliances.
Samsung appliances are already installed in Moda’s flagship Angel Gardens neighbourhood in Manchester.
Its smart appliances have also been integrated within Moda’s new penthouse apartments. Products such as the Dual Cook Flex and the Family Hub refrigerator have smart features including a WiFi enabled touchscreen and in-built cameras.
Oscar Brooks, director at Moda Living, said: “Championing innovation and beautiful design, Samsung presented a natural partner to supply appliances in-keeping with our future-thinking values and aesthetics. This year we hosted exclusive socially distanced Samsung screenings on our roof terrace, which have helped tackled loneliness during lockdown and keep our community connected during a difficult time. Our number one priority is for technology to help Moda’s residents to feel happy and safe in their home, whilst making their lives that bit easier. The proposition of the smart home is important for our future residents and will help distinguish our brand from the competition. Samsung is setting new standards for connected living and we are looking forward to driving our partnership forward.”
Murtaza Bukhari, general manager of strategic partnerships at Samsung UK & Ireland, said: “Moda’s focus on ‘future planning’ for the positive physical and mental health of their residents before the pandemic even unfolded was so refreshing. The fact that their focus is on the wellbeing of the community really resonated with Samsung’s vision.”
Ralf Elias, vice president of global IOT business development & partnerships at Samsung Electronics said: “At Samsung, we are committed to continuously innovating with our products and services to allow our customers to build their perfect Smart home to enhance wellbeing. It’s our aim to change the way people live and give purpose to connected living. Collaborating with Moda provides us with a scale portfolio to see where we, and our product range can add the most value.”
In 2015 Samsung announced a partnership with The Ascott to roll out smart appliances across its serviced apartment portfolio.
