UK: Brundell Property Group has been given the green light for Brighton’s first purpose-built coliving development after two years of negotiations with the local authority.
The project will open under a new brand Vibe Co-Living, and will form part of a £34 million residential and co-working scheme in two phases. It will feature 83 bedrooms with communal kitchens and amenity spaces as well as 46 co-working desks. The office space will also include a café and meeting spaces, while coliving residents will have access to a roof garden. All-inclusive rents will give residents access to a coworking desk.
Work is scheduled to begin on the Melbourne Street site this year, and the project is expected to be completed and operational by spring 2022.
The development also includes an offsite affordable housing element, which will contribute the equivalent of 40 per cent of the rooms included in the coliving scheme.
