UK: Developer Southern Grove has launched two new brands, for the coliving and BTR sectors respectively.
The company, which runs student accommodation business Future Generation, has created coliving brand Evolution and BTR brand Mast. It says it has secured a pipeline of schemes for the brands and aims to deliver around 1,000 units under each brand over the next two years.
The design of the new schemes will be led by Southern Grove’s head of hospitality Tim Barrett, whose experience in the hospitality sector includes stints at the Marriott and Radisson Hotels chains.
Southern Grove chairman Andrew Southern said: “This is an extremely exciting moment for me personally and the company. Entering the BTR and co-living sectors will give Southern Grove a presence across all the main residential property classes and a new focus on two of the market’s fastest-growing products. These two sectors are widely expected to outperform other asset classes over the next few years and we are determined to replicate the success we have enjoyed in the student accommodation sector, where we have supplied a disruptive, high-end product and a value proposition that protected our revenue across economic cycles.”
