UK: Former Regus CEO John Spencer has been appointed chief executive at flexible workspace provider BizSpace

He takes over from Gareth Evans, who has left BizSpace after almost 15 years in the post.

“It has been a pleasure to serve as CEO of BizSpace for so many years. I leave the business in a strong position with an excellent leadership team in place and I would like to thank my colleagues for all their hard work and support,” said Evans.

Spencer joins the business from workspace provider Landmark, where he was chief executive for more than four years. He also worked as the UK chief executive of Regus between February 2013 and September 2014.

“I’m pleased to be joining BizSpace at such an exciting time for the company, and wider industry,” Spencer said. “Businesses are increasingly demanding more flexible, cost-effective and local workspace alternatives, in a trend that is only set to accelerate in the wake of Covid-19. I look forward to meeting my colleagues and continuing the important role BizSpace plays, providing the flexible workspace businesses need to prosper.”

BizSpace chairman William Rucker said: “The UK working environment is undergoing a fundamental secular shift, with changing preferences and substantial UK SME growth fuelling increasing demand for more flexible alternatives. John is an exceptional leader, with a demonstrable track record of success in the industry, and the best person to help capture this opportunity. I would like to thank Gareth for his dedication and commitment over the past 15 years, helping to grow BizSpace into the successful business it is today.”
