US: High-speed rail operator Brightline has partnered with shared workspace provider Industrious to introduce coworking facilities across four train stations in Florida and onboard trains themselves.
The initiative, which went live this week, brings Industrious-operated workspaces to Brightline stations in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Orlando.
The workspaces repurpose underused conference and meeting rooms inside the stations, offering a more structured alternative to working on the move.
It also includes a bookable train car designed for meetings and private events, complete with Wi-Fi and charging ports.
Jamie Hodari, cofounder and CEO of Industrious, said: “If people can work from anywhere, then anywhere can be a workplace. I think that’s something that’s been underdeveloped. This recognises the reality that people are already working in these spaces—but in less than ideal conditions.”
Brightline said the move aims to meet growing demand for flexible work environments among business travellers. Megan Del Prior, vice president of corporate partnerships at Brightline, said: “It’s a solution for modern professionals where we’re enhancing productivity through mobility.”
