US: Softly opening this summer, Penny Williamsburg is a hotel and student housing concept created by Sydell Group.

In partnership with art school Bard College, Penny Williamsburg will offer 118 apartment style accommodations suitable for both short and long term visits. Each room comes with a Queen bed, a chromecast LG TV, seating area, a functioning kitchenette, a selection of art books curated by independent book store The Strand, custom branded bath products and Parachute robes.

Additional guest amenities include unlimited complimentary filtered water, bikes to borrow and in-room yoga and exercise supplies, a private courtyard and patio on the ground level with space to work and socialise, along with private classrooms and event spaces.

The ground floor will also act as a functioning art gallery in collaboration with non-profit organisations LAND Gallery and Pure Vision Arts, which provide resources, studio space and representation to artists with developmental disabilities. $1 from every hotel reservation will be donated to these organisations.

Set to open in early 2023 and situated on the eleventh floor is the rooftop bar and restaurant. Offering a casual menu with craft cocktails led by Leo Robitschek, the rooftop will provide indoor and outdoor space along with two private terraces and a built-in DJ kiosk.
