UK: Goodstone Living has appointed former Realstar executive Aleksandra Morisson as operations director.
The build-to-rent developer was set up in 2021 by Essential Living founders Darryl Flay and Martin Bellinger. They had backing from the Australian bank Macquire, which has backed Goodstone with £1 billion in debt and equity.
Morisson will be leading the company’s operating strategy and will be given significant input into the design of its BTR projects. She had been working with Realstar for more than five years. She was the head of operations at Uncle, Realstar’s BTR platform. Goodstone said that they oversaw her management of 2,500 homes in London and Manchester when she was working at Uncle. She has also worked at Urbanest and Regus, in the past.
Essential Living has secured permission for a 550-home scheme in Digbeth, Birmingham, and has bought a site for 338 homes in Leith, Edinburgh.
Martin Bellinger, co-founder and principal of Goodstone Living, said Morisson was a “fantastic appointment”. He said: “Aleksandra’s leadership and experience will support our business to unlock additional value for our assets and generate improved outcomes for our capital partners.”
Morisson added: “I am excited about this opportunity and look forward to innovating to push the boundaries in relation to social value creation, sustainability, technology, and the overall customer experience.”
