US: Greystar Real Estate Partners LLC has broken ground on Interport, a 396-unit, multifamily development near Tesla’s Gigafactory and global headquarters in Austin, Texas.
The community will comprise studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans ranging from 609 to 1,948 square feet. Apartment interiors will feature stainless steel appliances and high-end finishes. Amenities will include a dog park, beer garden, swimming pool, pickle ball court and a fitness lawn. The property will also include a clubhouse, designed by Meeks Partners and Michael Hsu Office of Architecture, which will incorporate coworking spaces, two clubrooms and a fitness centre. Completion is expected in early 2024.
Located within the Del Valle neighbourhood, the site is close to Highway 71, around nine miles from downtown Austin. The 2,500-acre Tesla factory is within a mile of the property, while the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is two miles away.
“We’re really excited to be able to bring Interport to the Del Valle neighbourhood, an area of Austin that has an immense need for housing,” said Alex Perkins, Greystar’s director of development. “The community itself will feature a large clubhouse with indoor-outdoor fitness and coworking spaces. Given the community’s proximity to Tesla’s Headquarters, sustainability and ample greenspace were major driving forces behind the design. This area is ripe for growth, and we are excited to help pave the path for other major developments to come.”
