France: Living sector developer and operator UXCO Group has started work at its ECLA Lille-Lomme coliving scheme.

UXCO and its development entity Océanis Promotion laid the first stone at the scheme, after acquiring the site in July. The ceremony marked the start of construction with an investment of €95 million.

The 800-bed ECLA Lille-Lomme will open in 2026 and will cover a total area of over 18,000 square metres, including 2,000 square metres of communal space and amenities.

It will be built using low-impact materials and complying with the best in class ESG regulation including BREEAM certification.

Financing for the scheme is from a partnership with La Banque des Territoires (Caisse des Dépôts Group – Public Financial Institution) and Societe Generale.

UXCO Group currently has a total of 15,000 beds and 75 residences in France, including 10,500 beds in operation, with a portfolio value above €1.5 billion.
