UK: Basil Demeroutis, the founder of FORE Partnership, has partnered with Ben Cross, former development director at General Projects, to launch MORE.
MORE will help clients refurbish buildings by “rethinking how they function and serve the communities around them”.
The new business has been appointed as development manager for the retrofit of One Poultry in the City of London.
One Poultry was constructed in 1997 and MORE will not only upgrade an outdated energy systems, but will also “honour the original design of the building”.
Cross said: “The traditional development model wasn’t built to solve the challenges we face today.”
Demeroutis added: “Innovation isn’t just a ‘features arms race’. It’s about redefining the rules. Every other industry has reinvented itself multiple times over the last hundred years. Meanwhile, real estate has barely moved. Disruption is overdue.”
