Royal London plans £100 million BTR development in Wilmslow

UK: Under plans submitted to Cheshire East council, Royal London Asset Management will redevelop Royal London House for Wilmslow’s first BTR scheme.

Royal London House will be redeveloped into a 286-key apartment complex. Led by AshtonHale, JTP and Randall Thorp architects will lead design on the project. The company’s 150,000 square foot office, vacant since 2020, will be demolished along with a car park on the site.

In its stead will rise two six-storey residential buildings. The buildings will be majority one-bedroom rentals alongside 109 two-bedroom and 23 three-bedroom apartments.

Proposed amenities include a gym, coworking space and cafe. The development will have green space in the form of a courtyard and community garden. Parking on the site will increase from 130 to 364 spaces. 

The Wilmslow development expands Royal London’s portfolio as the firm targets 8,000 BTR units across the UK.
