UK: Apache Capital has appointed Emily Brooke as asset manager as the business continues to build its operational capability across a growing pipeline of schemes.

Brooke joins from Savills, where she was an associate director and senior portfolio manager leading end-to-end operations across a portfolio of four build-to-rent developments totalling 1,772 units. In that role she oversaw the mobilisation and launch of new-build assets, led the recruitment strategy across the portfolio, and held responsibility for the operational budgets, income performance, health and safety compliance and investor reporting.

She will also take on responsibilities across Apache’s Prime BTR portfolio, as the business prepares for the imminent launch of Makers Place, Apache’s second scheme in Birmingham following The Mercian. The 722-home development in the city’s Jewellery Quarter will take the Prime portfolio to 4825 homes on completion.

Prior to Savills, Brooke spent almost two years as general manager at New Acres Wandsworth, Legal & General’s flagship build-to-rent development in London. She previously held general manager roles at Box Makers Yard and Spring Wharf, and earlier in her career worked in a number of roles at Soho House.

The appointment comes as Apache continues to grow Present Made, its wholly owned build-to-rent operations platform where it recently completed a £125 million refinancing of its first scheme in Eddington, Cambridge, and has a strong pipeline of further single-family developments planned across the country.

John Dunkerley, founder and chief executive of Apache Capital, said: “Emily’s appointment reflects the scale of our ambition to continue growing our assets under management across both our multi and single-family strategies. We are continuing to invest in the operational side of our business, and as we grow a fast-expanding pipeline of build to rent schemes across the country, having the right leadership in place to deliver on the ground is critical to the experience we give our residents.”

“Emily brings a valuable combination of hospitality-trained service standards and hands-on build-to-rent operational expertise, and we are delighted she is joining the team at such an important stage of our growth,” he added.
