UK: Developer Muse has partnered with Milton Keynes City Council and Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP) to deliver a masterplan for Central Bletchley, a mixed-use regeneration project centred around Bletchley Station.
The development will bring forward new homes across affordable housing, open market sale and build-to-rent (BTR) tenures. Retail space and community facilities and improved public spaces are also included in the plans, which are designed to make it a new town centre destination.
The project is based on a £22 million investment in Bletchley Station. This includes £17 million from the Government’s Growth Mission Fund and £5 million from Milton Keynes City Council.
The funding will provide a new eastern entrance to Bletchley Station, improving access between the station and Queensway high street. The investment is also expected to support local businesses and encourage further development in the area.
Andy Howell, development director at Muse, said: “We hope to deliver the Council’s vision to bring more life to the high street, provide greener, healthier and safer neighbourhoods with sustainable homes, retail space, public space and community infrastructure that will invigorate the town and unlock its potential.”
Central Bletchley is a part of the wider Oxford-Cambridge Growth Corridor, which is set to benefit from the planned East West Rail link.
The regeneration will enhance connectivity, provide new homes, jobs and public spaces, and boost Bletchley’s status as a regional destination, Muse said.
