Singapore: Coliwoo has opened Coliwoo Resort Changi, describing it as Singapore’s first resort-style coliving hotel.
It has been developed from a former state-owned holiday chalet park situated in Jalan Loyang Besar.
The 380-room project is Coliwoo‘s third largest property and serves both short- and long-term rentals. It is near Changi Airport, Changi Business Park and Singapore University of Technology and Design, and is aimed at international students, airline staff, business travellers and leisure guests.
The resort provides a variety of shared facilities such as separate adults and kids swimming pools, gym, coworking lounge, karaoke rooms, sports court, children playground and outdoor event space. There are also some food and beverage outlets, a convenience store and landscaped gardens at the site.
The project involved the adaptive reuse of a 40-year-old holiday chalet property, which underwent a 10-month restoration. During redevelopment approximately 40 per cent of the existing landscape and the original terracotta roof tiles were retained.
Sustainability features include solar panels, rainwater harvesting, electric vehicle charging stations, food composting, energy-efficient lighting and repurposed building materials.
Coliwoo also aim to provide wellness programmes, community activities, and outdoor experiences to foster resident engagement, and continue to grow its co-living portfolio in Singapore.
