UK: Developer Grantside has secured a senior funding package from Pluto Finance, with additional part-funding from the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, for the development of Hive in Sheffield.
Grantside received planning approval for the project in 2023. Hive-Central will feature 100 coliving units, commercial space on the ground floor, a central courtyard and communal living and working amenity spaces.
Demolition of existing buildings will make way for the construction of the seven-storey scheme, which aims to achieve zero carbon. Architecture firm Cartwright Pickard will lead the design.
Steve Davis, founder and CEO of Grantside, said: “Securing this funding is a major step forward for Hive Sheffield and demonstrates strong backing for our vision of delivering high-quality, community-driven co-living in the UK’s regional cities. We’re delighted to be working with Pluto Finance and the South Yorkshire Combined Mayoral Authority, whose support enables us to bring forward a scheme that will have a genuinely positive impact on Sheffield.”
Grantside’s project partners include Hoare Lea, EDGEPS LIMITED, Arup, and Summers-Inman.
