US: Vidle, a platform built for healthcare travellers has partnered with PadSplit, America’s largest coliving marketplace.
Through the partnership, PadSplit’s shared housing options will be made available through the Vidle Housing platform, giving travel nurses, allied health professionals, and other healthcare travellers an additional way to find housing that fits their assignment, location, and budget.
PadSplit offers a different approach from traditional furnished rentals. Members rent their own private, furnished bedroom within a shared home while sharing common spaces such as kitchens and depending on the property, bathrooms, and other living areas. This model can significantly reduce housing costs compared with renting an entire apartment or home, while providing travellers with the flexibility they need when temporarily relocating for work.
“Healthcare travellers have different priorities when it comes to housing, and affordability is becoming increasingly important,” said Randy Holloran, CEO of Vidle. “Some travellers want a private apartment or home, while others would gladly consider sharing a home if it allows them to significantly reduce their housing expenses. By partnering with PadSplit, we’re adding another important option and giving travellers greater control over how and where they live while on assignment.”
The addition of PadSplit further expands Vidle Housing’s growing range of housing choices designed specifically around the needs of the healthcare traveler community. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Vidle Housing is building a marketplace that provides travelers with multiple housing types, price points and stay options in one place.
“Travel healthcare professionals provide essential services in communities across the country, and they need housing options that provide flexibility and affordability while they’re away from home,” said Atticus LeBlanc, PadSplit’s founder and CEO. “Our partnership with Vidle Housing introduces shared housing to more healthcare travellers and gives them another way to make their assignments financially rewarding while having a comfortable place to call home.”
For healthcare travellers, housing is often one of the largest expenses associated with taking an assignment. Shared housing provides an opportunity for travellers who are comfortable living with others to lower those costs and potentially retain more of their housing stipend or assignment earnings.
The PadSplit partnership is part of Vidle Housing’s broader effort to expand housing inventory and provide healthcare travellers with more choices, from private furnished apartments and homes to hotels, extended-stay accommodations, and now affordable shared housing.
