UK: Flexible workspace specialist x+why has signed the social care staffing app Florence as its first enterprise member at the Foundry at Brindleyplace in Birmingham.
Founded in 2017 to help relieve the UK’s social care crisis, Florence has grown to more than 50,000 care professionals and will be taking a 48-desk space at Foundry as its hub for the south of England, Midlands and Wales.
Brindleyplace landlord Hines has partnered with x+why to operate the 40,000 square feet of space over the first, second and third floors at Foundry, to provide a fully serviced and managed work environment.
The space has been designed “to support and inspire young, impact-led companies on their journey to profit”.
x+why recently became a certified B Corporation – meaning it is committed to reinventing business by pursuing purpose as well as profit. To underscore the building’s green credentials, Foundry is currently working towards the RICS-accredited SKA Silver rating, demonstrating an active commitment to sustainability.
Dejan Kojin, managing director at Florence for south of England, Midlands and Wales, said: “We chose x+why’s space at Foundry for our regional hub due to its unrivalled facilities and, especially, the importance placed on wellbeing and fun – key factors in the future of any workspace. We were also very impressed by x+why’s fantastic sustainability credentials which are very important to us in our aim to drive positive social change.”
