UK: The 2025 Urban Living Impact Awards, which were launched last year to highlight the very best companies, individuals and properties across the urban living asset classes, are now open for entries.
This year five categories will be decided by a panel of independent judges, with one award, Rising Star, being decided by a poll of Urban Living News readers. The awards will be presented at a ceremony at the Urban Living Festival in London on September 23rd.
The awards judges are:

To enter the awards, or to nominate a colleague or industry colleague, please email your entries/nominations to awards@urbanliving.news. Entries should be in PDF format. Please include images and links to videos where appropriate. There is no cost to enter. Individuals and companies can enter as many categories as they like where appropriate. Entries are open until August 1st.
The categories and criteria for the 2025 Urban Living Impact Awards are:
• Visionary of the Year [person] (2024 winner: Ami Kotecha, Amro Partners)
This award celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to the urban living sector through their inspiring leadership and innovative vision. It honours those whose work has shaped the industry in meaningful ways and has a broad influence, inspiring others and driving progress.
Criteria:
• Leadership: Does the individual have a long-term and inspiring vision for the future of the living sector?
• Contribution to industry growth: Has the individual’s work helped to shape the direction of the living sector in a positive way?
• Influence: Does the individual’s work inspire and influence others in the industry?
Thought leadership: Has the individual published, spoken, or otherwise shared their vision with a broad audience?
• Rising Star [person] – voted for by Urban Living News readers (2024 winner: Hannah Chappatte, Hybr)
This award recognises emerging talents who bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the urban living sector. It celebrates individuals who, despite being relatively new to the field, have already made impactful contributions and demonstrate great potential to become future leaders in the industry.
Criteria:
• Innovation: Does the individual demonstrate a fresh perspective and innovative ideas for the living sector?
• Early achievements: Has the individual already made significant contributions to the living sector, despite being relatively new to the field?
• Potential for impact: Does the individual demonstrate a strong potential to be a future leader in the living sector?
• Deal of the year (2024 winner: Vistry Group and Sigma Capital Group: 5,000 home framework)
This award celebrates the most innovative, strategically significant, and financially successful deals within the European living sector that also positively contribute to urban living.
Criteria:
• The deal must have completed between 1st August 2024 and 31st July 2025.
• Impact and innovation: What is the deal’s potential to significantly impact the living sector in terms of the originality of the deal structure and its ability to address evolving urban living needs or challenges?
• Strategic significance and scale: What is the strategic importance and overall scale of the deal and how could it influence market trends?
• Financial performance and value creation: What will be the demonstrable financial success and value creation resulting from the deal?
• Positive contribution to urban living: What is the deal’s broader positive impact on urban environments and communities?
• Disrupter [person] (2024 winner: Jenna Harris, Harris Associates)
This award recognises an individual with a clear and innovative vision who has demonstrably changed the living sector, inspired others, and achieved specific disruptive accomplishments.
Criteria:
• Vision: Does the individual have a clear and innovative vision for the future of the living sector?
• Impact: Has the individual’s work demonstrably changed the way we think about or approach living spaces?
• Leadership: Has the individual inspired and motivated others to follow their vision?
• Achievements: Can the individual point to specific achievements that support their disruptive approach?
• Best sustainability initiative
This award celebrates innovative and scalable initiatives within the living sector that demonstrate measurable environmental benefits and promote social wellbeing.
Criteria:
• Innovation: Does the initiative introduce a new or significantly improved approach to sustainability within the living sector?
• Measurable impact: Can the initiative demonstrate quantifiable environmental benefits (e.g., reduced energy consumption, water usage)?
• Scalability: Can the initiative be replicated or adapted for use in other living sector projects?
• Social impact: Does the initiative promote social and environmental wellbeing within communities?
• Best adaptive reuse project (2024 winner: Bromley Old Town Hall, Castleforge Partners)
This award honours a project that creatively transforms an existing building, preserving its significance while incorporating sustainability and positively impacting the community.
Criteria:
• Innovation: Does the project creatively transform an existing building into a viable and relevant new space?
• Preservation: Does the project preserve the historical or architectural significance of the original building?
• Sustainability: Does the project incorporate sustainable practices in construction, materials, and operation?
• Community Impact: Does the project revitalise the surrounding community and contribute to a vibrant urban environment?
