Netherlands: Nido Living has appointed Rafael Fernández-Ladreda as chief integration officer, and Jeremy Marcazzan as chief commercial officer.
Fernández-Ladreda will lead the integration of Nido Living and the recently acquired Livensa Living. In the newly created role, he will support Nido’s business strategy, ensuring people, systems and processes are successfully integrated and optimised for driving future success of the platform. The role forms a key part of the business’ strategic goal of owning and operating 25,000 beds across continental Europe by 2031.
Acquired in September 2025, Livensa Living is one of the largest student accommodation platforms in Iberia, with over 9,000 beds across Spain and Portugal. Its portfolio of high-quality, design-led residences complements Nido’s existing footprint, creating a combined platform of more than 13,000 beds across continental Europe.
Carlo Matta, CEO of Nido Living, said: “The new role of chief integration officer will play a crucial role for us to meet our ambitious growth strategy. Rafael brings invaluable expertise, having worked across multiple sectors and geographies. As we target 25,000 beds by 2031, integrating our teams and harnessing value across the platform will be critical to our success.”
Fernández-Ladreda, added: “I am excited to take on this new role at Nido Living and to support the integration of Livensa Living into the platform. Bringing together the strengths of both organisations will allow us to accelerate transformation, unlock synergies and create long-term value as we continue to grow across Europe.”
Marcazzan was previously Livensa’s senior director of operations, and will oversee the merged company’s commercial strategy.
He brings almost three decades’ global experience across student housing and hospitality, including at The Social Hub, a Dutch B-Corp that has pioneered hybrid hotels, living and working across Europe. Marcazzan most recently played a central role in shaping Livensa’s position as Iberia’s leading developer and operating brand, helping expand the platform, previously owned by Brookfield Asset Management, to 9,000 beds across Spain and Portugal.
Matta said: “Our ambitious expansion programme requires a senior team with lived experience in different markets, working from the ground up with customers to refine and iterate our buildings and operations. Jeremy’s expertise in the student accommodation sector, multinational experience and deep understanding of the Livensa business, brings added value to Nido as we integrate the two businesses at the same time as targeting an accelerated growth.”
Marcazzan added: “The integration of Nido and Livensa creates a unified platform with the scale and ambition to redefine student living across Europe. The amazing team we have and our shared commitment to driving innovation and service is matched only by the market opportunity we see across Europe’s key university locations.”
