WeWork expands workplace wellbeing programme across global portfolio

Global: WeWork has announced plans to introduce the WELL Coworking Rating across more than 300 locations worldwide, making it one of the largest workplace wellbeing initiatives in the flexible workspace sector.

The programme will be delivered in collaboration with the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) and The Instant Group. It will account for approximately half of WeWork’s global portfolio and will serve over 550,000 members annually who will benefit from their use of its workspaces.

The WELL Coworking Rating offers a system to enhance workplace health and wellbeing. It includes standards covering air and water quality, lighting, thermal comfort, movement, nutrition and workplace design.

Ebbie Wisecarver, chief design and product officer at WeWork, said: “Pursuing the WELL Coworking Rating across our portfolio underscores that commitment to our members, embedding health and wellness into the spaces they use every day.”

The programme is expected to be expanded to WeWork’s worldwide locations over the next three years. The company has over 600 offices around the world that provide coworking spaces, private offices and managed workplace solutions.

WeWork’s goal with the program is to make workplaces healthier and establish a new standard for health and wellbeing in the flexible workspace market.
