UK: Pocket Living has launched a coliving rental concept called Together.

The concept, which draws inspiration from global residential sharing models, is designed to address London’s deepening housing crisis and the rise in loneliness by creating a more affordable open-market rental product for key workers and young professionals.

The concept is based around large homes with ensuite bedrooms rented by the room. Under the model, tenants enter into individual leases, rather than sign a joint tenancy, and have shared use of the living, cooking, dining and circulation parts of the home.

Pocket Living has secured planning permission for the first Together homes within a wider development in Lambeth, which will house 150 renters. It has also identified a pipeline of potential sites.

Paul Rickard, CEO of Pocket Living, said: “Pocket Living has always been about doing things differently, creating smart, design-led solutions to help Londoners stay in the city they love. Together takes that mission a step further. It will give key workers and young professionals access to affordable, high quality homes that offer both independence and community. This pilot is the first of its kind and we are delighted to launch it in Lambeth, a borough that has been critical to our growth.”
