UK: Coliving developer and operator Re:shape is looking for a joint venture partner to commit around £200 million of institutional equity to deliver four London coliving projects.

The pipeline has 1,554 units across sites in London Fields, east London (222 units); Woolwich, south-east London (425 units); Wimbledon, south-west London (520 units); and Homerton, east London (387 units).

Re:shape has appointed Savills to advise on the fundraise, which is called Project Haven.

The company has also secured planning consent for a 386-unit coliving development in Salford.

The 22-storey riverside scheme off Worral Street will provide a mix of rental homes – 20 per cent of which will be affordable – on the banks of the River Irwell, alongside new public realm and improved pedestrian access to the waterfront.

Originally submitted as a 426-unit proposal, the scheme was redesigned and the density was reduced following engagement with the local council.

Jermaine Browne, co-founder of Re:shape, said: “Salford represents the next chapter in our growth as we expand into new cities with our third-generation co-living product. The scheme has evolved through collaboration with the council to deliver more public space and stronger connections to the river, while maintaining our commitment to affordable homes. With a growing pipeline in highly desirable locations, we’re focused on delivering the next generation of urban living for younger generations.”

The scheme was designed by architecture practice Buttress, with Planit handling landscape design and planning consultancy advice provided by Stantec.
